SPECIAL THANKS TO TORRANCE FIREFIGHTERS

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Torrance Firemen who volunteered at this year’s Walkathon. Torrance Firemen volunteers led athletes in warm up exercises, they cheered the walkers on, and also marked their bibs. Some of the firefighters even came in full gear! Our athletes and their families are truly appreciative for the of the help and support shown by this wonderful group of Torrance Firefighters.

WALK-A-THON FUNDRAISER

A LETTER OF THANKS

Our 1st FTEA Walk-a-thon was a huge success. To everyone’s surprise we have raised over $8,500 to date. All of the money raised by our fundraising efforts goes towards our Special Needs Sports Program and will enable us to hold more tournaments, buy necessary equipment, uniforms, etc.

A big THANK YOU to the FTEA Board for organizing this event and to the wonderful volunteers who made everything run smoothly:
Frank Nieto, our new head chef, Angi & Jessica Bugg, who organized and kept the food line moving, Donie Martinez & friend, Mino, for scooping out all those snow cones, Jill Wilke, Laurie Nelson, Debby & David Becket, and Kathy Bellenfant for all you did.
Carina Montes, the “balloon lady” did a fantastic job and we thank you for all you’re hard work and support. The balloons looked great and made everything very festive.
Gus Martinez – “wow” you did a great job of designing the course and keeping everyone on track with the terrific signs you made. Thanks to Ellen & Margo Tarlow, Frank & Susie Inouye for manning the water stations.

A special thanks to Mary-Ann Fick, who without all of her knowledge & organization, the Walk might not have been possible.
